In a co-production between Touring Consortium and Royal & Derngate, Northampton, the successful 2014 adaptation of Dickens’ classic A Tale of Two Cities has embarked on a UK Tour with lighting supplied by SLX.
Ben Payne from SLX, worked with lighting designer Paul Keogan to enhance the flexibility and reliability of the rig for the tour, including the addition of the Martin RUSH PAR 2 Zoom and the Martin MAC Quantum Wash, whilst also retaining key tungsten source units; ETC Source 4 Revolution and Martin MAC TW1, all controlled with a networked ETC ION Console.
Paul comments: “I was really happy with the kit and service that SLX provided. Everything worked first time, and there was no messing or faffing, which allowed us to keep to the tight tech schedule. It was also my first time using the Martin RUSH PAR 2 Zoom - which I was really impressed with”.
Ben concludes: “It’s been a great working with Paul and the team on A Tale of Two Cities. We’ve managed to achieve a rig that maintains the look of Paul’s original design, whilst updating key elements using well proven fixtures from our growing range of LED technology”.
