As CEO, Alastair ensures SLX runs smoothly and successfully, bringing boundless energy, positivity, and extensive expertise to the company. With 40 years’ experience in the events industry, Alastair has delivered highly technical immersive and bespoke events for a huge range of clientele, both within the UK and beyond. His passion for pushing excellence in events over the years sees him heading up a number of other businesses within the event industry. Throughout his career Alastair believes he has always been a champion of change within the sector, always looking at new ways to operate, embracing new technology, considering what impact the business has on the environment and ensuring his teams are all well supported.

As the Managing Director, Russell spearheads a highly passionate team of creatives and Project Managers, collectively delivering an array of diverse and world-class events. With over 20 years at SLX, Russell's journey began in the Events Team, where he skillfully managed an extensive range of projects, ranging from university balls to regional conferences. Russell completed a technical apprenticeship under Maurice Marshal at the Northcott Theatre which laid a solid foundation for his expertise. Throughout SLX's growth from its original Exeter location to its present headquarters in Bristol, Russell has been an integral part of the company's evolution, bringing his invaluable experience and unwavering dedication to the forefront.

With her expertise in managing accounts, Alison assumes the pivotal role of ensuring smooth operations within the SLX financial landscape. A true aficionado of collaborative environments, she thrives in creative teams where her passion truly shines. Armed with an impressive two decades of experience in handling accounts for the hospitality industry, Alison brings a wealth of knowledge and a keen eye for detail to her role. Her dedication and meticulous approach make her an invaluable asset in maintaining the proper functioning of SLX's financial systems.  

With a background in electronics and telecommunications, Adrian has been part of the rental, theatre and events industry for more years than he could care to remember. He worked his way through the ranks with most recent roles as Warehouse Director, Technical Director and Operations Director here at SLX. Beyond his impressive résumé, manufacturers and clients alike highly regard Adrian in the industry for his extensive knowledge, operational excellence, and collaborative approach. He is all about the team and how they achieve great things when like-minded people stretch their imaginations and deliver what was first thought to be impossible in creating truly unforgettable events, big or small. His ability to see problems from different perspectives provides our customers with the confidence that SLX is the right partner to trust their business with. Adrian is a firm believer that you can only “Manage what you can Measure” therefore having quality, accurate and up-to-date data is essential which is why he is passionate about improving the use of data within the SLX operation. He is always keeping a close eye on the technology side of the business, exploring the opportunities that new technology can offer to SLX customers. And when not at work, if the sun is out, you might spot him out and about in his MG Midget now he has completed its full restoration.

Sarah, the chief coordinator of SLX, serves as the backbone of the company. With over 16 years of dedicated service, she is the go-to person for any and every question, concern, or query that arises. Sarah's expertise lies not only in problem solving and team motivation but also in her role as a qualified Mental Health First Aider, providing essential support to ensure the well being of our staff. Her unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions make her an invaluable asset to SLX, ensuring the smooth functioning of our operations and the overall success of the company.

Alex specialises in producing stunning theatrical, experiential, and found-space technical projects. He brings almost 25 years’ experience in hire and events to SLX and is always prepared to bring the most challenging visions to life. Alex has brought the amazing complexities of aerial performance with Fuerza Bruta to the Roundhouse, delved into the immersive labyrinth of performance spaces at the Old Vid Tunnels, and even transformed Covent Garden and the South Bank with pop-up swimming tanks and bouncy castles.

Rebecca, our Warehouse Delivery Manager brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with a proven track record in managing a whole host of major events. Rebecca's holistic planning approach allows her to meticulously coordinate warehouse operations and resource planning. Her exceptional organisational skills ensure that our daily operations run smoothly, as she expertly organises teams and equipment for all our events. Rebecca's valuable contributions make her an invaluable asset to our team, as she plays a vital role in supporting the success and delivery of our warehouse.  

Ruari has worked in the industry for over 35 years. As our Business Development Manager, he is adept at developing new business opportunities while ensuring excellent client care for tours, venues, and customers. With a remarkable portfolio that includes iconic UK venues like Sadler's Wells and the London Palladium, Ruari has successfully overseen a wide range of events, including dance shows, musicals, and world expos. Additionally, his passion for fostering the growth of the next generation of lighting designers shines through his advocacy for the Lighting Programme, providing aspiring talents with access, exposure, and networking opportunities.

Phoebe combines her MSc in Environmental Sustainability with her lifelong interest in the events industry in her role as Sustainability and Social Values Manager. Phoebe is responsible for driving SLX’s sustainability goals forward, allowing our work to continue in an environmentally responsible way. Phoebe is a Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) and Practitioner Member of IEMA (PIEMA).  

Myles plays a pivotal role in upholding the integrity of our branding and ensuring its relevance in our rapidly evolving industry. With a keen eye for detail, he ensures that all our content remains relevant, up to date, and inspiring. Myles takes charge of designing and creating support materials for our marketing and advertising campaigns. His exceptional visual design skills bring internal and client briefs to life, resulting in outstanding visuals that contribute to our sales life cycle. Myles' contributions are instrumental in creating a compelling and visually engaging presence for SLX, further enhancing our impact, driving brand awareness and identifying opportunities for business growth through strategic content creation.

A natural leader with a talent for managing large teams, Karen's focus is on inspiring and motivating her team members to deliver exceptional end products that meet client requirements. With over 20 years of international experience in project and contract management, she has excelled in various sectors including technical event production, sporting overlay solutions, and adapting to temporary and existing venues.

Andrew's extraordinary talent manifests itself in the creation of captivating, immersive, and illuminated experiences. Serving as the driving force behind our Trains projects, he orchestrates a remarkable endeavor that showcases a fleet of heritage steam trains, illuminated railways and iconic landmarks across the United Kingdom. Having joined SLX in 2005, Andrew embarked on his professional journey by completing a technical apprenticeship under the guidance of the Maurice Marshal MBE. Initially starting in the hire warehouse, he swiftly ascended through the ranks, harnessing his creative prowess and mastery of lighting design. Today, Andrew stands at the forefront of our team, utilising his skills to curate a range of extraordinary shows that leave a lasting impression on our clients.  

With over 25 years of expertise in live events, Sophie is a seasoned professional dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences in the UK and beyond, boasting an extensive track record in operational delivery. Sophie works closely with our clients to understand their project needs, ensure smooth execution, and deliver high-quality results.  From an initial brief, proposal or tender, Sophie will ask the right questions to build relationships and immerse herself into the project, bringing experience and knowledge to ensure our clients meet their overall goals and objectives. Sophie’s passion is to create immersive events focusing on client management and the overall delegate journey.

With over 17 years at SLX, Katy is an invaluable member of our team, providing unwavering support to our portfolio of Tours, West End shows, and the Edinburgh Festival. Katy's expertise and in-depth knowledge of theatre, our clients, and equipment make her the go-to source for any inquiries. Katy's passion extends beyond her daily responsibilities, as she is dedicated to sharing her wealth of insight and expertise with the next generation. Regularly invited as a speaker at the National Student Drama Festival (NSDF), she actively contributes to fostering the development of aspiring theater professionals. Furthermore, Katy's role also Co-founded and manages SLX's Lighting Programme showcases her commitment to empowering and nurturing talent within our industry.

As one of our long-standing Project Manager, Dan has successfully led an impressive array of ventures, ranging from captivating festivals and enchanting outdoor winter lighting installations to prestigious corporate award shows and exhilarating sports events. With a remarkable 16 years of industry experience under his belt, Dan's skills are further augmented by his PRINCE2 qualification, which equips him with a wealth of knowledge and best practices. He astounds us by delivering nothing short of spectacular events that leave a lasting impact time and time again.  

Maintaining the smooth operation of the warehouse is a vital aspect of Jack's role as Deputy Warehouse Delivery Manager. Working closely with the warehouse team, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the company is well-prepared for every show and event we produce. Leveraging his expertise acquired through studies in audio production and his previous experience with the SLX Sales Team, Jack effectively applies his knowledge to uphold our exceptional level of customer satisfaction. Moreover, he continuously adapts and refines warehouse operations, ensuring their efficiency and effectiveness in meeting our clients' needs.

Sophie, our Business Development Manager based in Paris, brings a wealth of expertise to our team. With her extensive time living in the vibrant city, Sophie not only possesses exquisite language skills but also valuable experience in client liaison and exceptional customer service. Her deep understanding of the local market and cultural nuances enables her to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with our clients. Sophie's unique combination of language proficiency, client management skills, and cultural sensitivity makes her a valuable asset as she spearheads our business development efforts in the Paris region.

Bart ensures the seamless preparation and impeccable upkeep of all SLX power distribution, lifting equipment, and rigging. With unwavering commitment, he curates bespoke testing procedures to ensure that every piece of power and rigging equipment utilised in our projects surpasses the highest standards of quality. Bart's attention to detail and dedication guarantee that we operate with utmost efficiency, providing clients with equipment that exceeds their expectations.  

Emily, our London based Event Manager, oversees all our projects and venues within the capital. Her journey commenced with  TV production studies at Ravensbourne, which laid the foundation for her career. Emily initially worked as a Junior Project Manager, collaborating closely with our Technical Project Managers. With a passion for bringing events to life, she possesses a remarkable ability to orchestrate diverse endeavors, ranging from grand-scale conferences to global sporting competitions. Emily further honed her skills while working on a captivating musical theatre tour across the UK and Ireland, expanding her repertoire. Combining her rich experiences in both TV and theatre, she brings forth a wealth of practical knowledge to every project she undertakes.  

With more than 25 years in the industry Sam has acquired a wide range of experience and skills in the industry, having worked in Opera, Ballet, Pantomime, West end musicals, education and touring to some of the top venues across the country. With skills in construction, rigging of set, staging and props He is never happier than applying practical solutions to physical challenges and is delighted to bring this experience to bear in the earlier stages of planning and development. 

Anne-Marie is an experienced HR Manager who loves to combine her passions of hospitality and events by supporting and contributing towards the management and development of the people she works with, helping them to be the best at what they do. Anne-Marie loves working with people and understands that people are the most important and valuable part of any company. During weekends, you can spot Anne-Marie immersed in her other venture: Rude Plant Food, a plant-based food truck that operates at festivals.  

Alex plays a crucial role within the warehouse team, meticulously selecting and preparing the essential equipment that brings our live events to life. Working closely with the on-site crew, he seamlessly installs and delivers sound and lighting for a diverse range of events. With a passion for the world of lighting and sound that was passed down from his father, Alex embarked on his career in the events industry at a young age. He honed his skills through early training and quickly became an invaluable member of his school's technical department, orchestrating flawless setups and managing various school events and productions.

After 2 years working in all areas of the warehouse as a Warehouse Technician and venturing out on-site, Josef developed a deep understanding of the equipment we offer and how it’s used. With his attention to detail and familiarity with our inventory, Josef has started to put his skills to work in a new role as Hire Controller. Josef plays a key role in organising and creating solutions for overbookings. With a deep-rooted love for live events, Josef's journey began with years of studying for an Extended Music Technology Diploma at college, followed by a Professional Musicianship degree at BIMM University. Building upon the musical legacy set by his parents, Josef is also an active member of an original band, touring across the UK, further fueling his passion for the industry.

Ieuan plays a crucial role as a valued member of our team, contributing significantly to the success of numerous events. He diligently handles pre-show preparations and efficiently assists with asset returns once the event wraps up. Ieuan's extensive experience in audio recording and production brings a valuable skill set to our team. He initially joined SLX in the Warehouse Lighting team, but his passion for delivering exceptional experiences led him to transition into the events team, where he has successfully worked on a range of project and contributed his expertise in lighting to the Heritage Railway projects.

Donna brings a wealth of expertise with her 25 years of finance experience in the public sector, showcasing eight years of dedicated leadership as a Finance Manager. A qualified member of AAT, Donna plays a vital role in supporting the Financial Controller in the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department. Donna has chosen to take a step back to pursue a part-time role as an Accounts Assistant with us, this decision not only allows her to contribute to the financial team but also provides her with the flexibility to assist with childcare for her grandson. Beyond her professional life, Donna and her husband embark on thrilling adventures in their converted Fire Engine.

Paul holds the esteemed position of being SLX's inaugural employee, and his unwavering commitment continues to shine even after four decades. Presently, he plays a pivotal role in providing invaluable logistical and live events support. Paul's remarkable journey commenced with rigorous training at the prestigious Northcott Theatre, which served as the launching pad for his career. Throughout his time at SLX, he has amassed an impressive repertoire, having contributed his expertise and dedication to nearly every department within SLX.

With over 13 years at SLX, Simon plays a crucial role in coordinating our fleet of trucks, ensuring timely delivery for every job. Beyond his coordination responsibilities, Simon embraces a hands-on approach to his role by personally delivering equipment to events and assisting with setup operations. Notably, Simon's talents extend beyond land vehicles, as he holds a licence to pilot hovercrafts. Simon's commitment, expertise, and willingness to go the extra mile make him an invaluable asset to SLX, contributing to the smooth execution of our operations and the overall success.

Sam provides essential administrative support to our Dry Hire team, ensuring a seamless link between the warehouse and the office. With a background as a Hotel Conference and Events Manager in Bath, Sam brings valuable customer service skills to the role, building strong relationships with both internal and external clients. Sam's prior experience as a Warehouse Live Events Technician further enhances their ability to maintain our extensive equipment inventory and operate lights and sound for diverse events. Outside of work, Sam passionately runs lights and sound for private parties and events in Bath during their free time.      

Jacqui plays a vital role as a Transport Administrator, ensuring the seamless functioning of our transport operations. Her contribution is key in the coordination of our fleet, guaranteeing timely and precise delivery of equipment to their designated locations. With an impressive background in the transport sector, Jacqui joined SLX equipped with a wealth of practical skills and invaluable insights. Her expertise greatly enhances the success of every project as she brings a unique perspective and ensures that operations run smoothly from start to finish.

As a qualified electrician, Kevin applies his skills to keep all of our electrical distribution equipment running to the highest possible standard, carrying out servicing and repairs where necessary. Kevin has previously worked in the entertainment team at Alton Towers, but also as a technical manager at a Spanish theatre, making the experience and knowledge he brings to his role at SLX both valuable and unique.

Kenn's exceptional skills and expertise play a crucial role in all our equipment. He effortlessly tackles any repair, drawing upon his extensive knowledge gained through numerous electrical and IT qualifications. With a keen attention to detail, Kenn oversees the servicing and repair of every our hire assets. Beyond his role within SLX, Kenn has provided invaluable technical consultancy to businesses across the UK, further amplifying his expertise. His unwavering commitment to upholding consistent high standards ensures that the assets we offer consistently meet and exceed expectations. Kenn's invaluable contributions significantly contribute to our ability to provide equipment to our clients.

With a career spanning over 20 years in the theatre industry, Gary's journey commenced as a dancer before transitioning into technical roles. Presently, he plays a vital role at SLX, maintaining the reliability of the software employed within the company while also overseeing the quality of all SLX assets. Gary's dedication extends beyond his professional endeavors, as he invests equal energy into his downtime pursuits. Regularly participating in ironman challenges and swimming an impressive 12 miles on most weekends, he exemplifies a relentless pursuit of personal achievements and pushes his boundaries both in and out of the workplace. Gary's commitment and drive make him an invaluable asset, consistently ensuring smooth operations.

Jade's unwavering passion for the industry is evident in her exceptional dedication as a Supervisor. Her commitment to her responsibilities goes above and beyond expectations, consistently exceeding them. With contagious positivity, Jade inspires and motivates her team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Always readily available to assist in resolving any challenges that may arise. She takes great pride in her ability to adapt seamlessly to various situations, showcasing her flexibility and resourcefulness when needed. Kevin plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of our clients and internal teams through his meticulous preparation of power and rigging items, adhering to essential safety standards. Kevin's journey to his career at SLX took a unique path, fueled by a lifelong fascination with all things electric, which was sparked by his father's work as an electrical engineer. Despite spending 20 years building a successful career in academic bookselling, Kevin redirected his skills and passion to join SLX, where he could fully leverage his expertise. His diverse background brings a fresh perspective and valuable insights to his role, contributing to the overall safety and success of our operations.

Hanna’s passion for audio, film, and all things production was sparked in her childhood from an early age with theatre shows, concerts and cinema trips with her family. During her studies at Buckinghamshire New University, she honed her skills filming BBC Introducing live music videos, thus igniting a love for live events and AV. Paired with her professional experience in the world of audio, video, live streaming and podcasting, Hanna is a valuable addition to the team. Now, Hanna blends her technical expertise with her positive attitude and creative flair as a Warehouse Technician, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes

Carlos assumes a crucial role within our warehouse team, taking on the responsibility of meticulously preparing our extensive array of audio and video equipment. With a profound passion for music, Carlos has transformed his lifelong love into a fulfilling career with SLX. Immersed in the world of high-end audio and video equipment, he navigates the events production process with finesse, gaining invaluable experience across an array of creative disciplines. Carlos' dedication and expertise make him an indispensable asset, ensuring that our clients receive flawlessly prepared equipment and experience extraordinary events that leave a lasting impact.  

Drawing from his extensive experience as an in-house Lighting Technician at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham for three years, Jamie brings a wealth of expertise to his role in ensuring the pristine condition of our equipment. With his deep knowledge of the lighting department, Jamie oversees the maintenance and preparation of all our equipment, ensuring they are in perfect condition before being dispatched. Thanks to Jamie's proactive approach, any issues that arise are promptly addressed, allowing us to swiftly resolve them and maintain an efficient equipment turnaround process. Jamie's dedication and reactivity significantly contribute to our ability to provide quality equipment and services to our clients.

Matt's journey in the live events and production industry began with his studies in Technical Theatre at Filton College. Following that, he gained valuable experience as a member of the Control and Moving Light team for four years. After a brief hiatus from the industry, Matt joins SLX as a Moving Light Technician, bringing his expertise and passion to the role. His primary responsibility involves providing maintenance and quality control for our extensive stock of Moving Lights, ensuring their optimal performance. Matt's love and passion for all aspects of the live events industry fuel his dedication. Outside of work, Matt's is a skilled drummer and spends his spare time recording drum covers.

As a Warehouse and Live Event Technician Niamh plays a vital role providing day-to-day support. She excels in maintaining and preparing lights for a wide variety of events. With a degree in Music Production & Sound Engineering, Niamh's enthusiasm for the live events industry fuels her knowledge and expertise in both lighting and music. In her spare time, she showcases her talents as a house and techno DJ, immersing audiences in unforgettable experiences. Her creativity extends to her home studio, where she skillfully crafts innovative and customised lights. Niamh's diverse skill set, combined with her passion for music and lighting, enables her to excel in her role, ensuring the success of every event she contributes to.  

As a Warehouse Technician, Oliver excels in his role by efficiently preparing our comprehensive range of equipment, with a particular focus on our lighting department. His journey in the captivating world of lighting commenced during his school years, where he actively immersed himself in lighting music and drama productions. Fueled by his passion, he pursued a degree in Music Technology, which laid the foundation for his subsequent role as a member of a prominent local live events company.

After completing his studies at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Josh gained a wealth of experience in the local theatre scene for a few years. He then transitioned into a career with SLX, where he worked across various departments within the warehouse. Among these, the rigging department stood out as a personal favorite, and Josh is thrilled to have returned to it at SLX. His main responsibilities now include overseeing compliance with regulations, maintaining health and safety standards, and conducting regular inspections of the equipment for hire.  

Dan's role as a Warehouse and Live Events Technician is complimented by his exceptional skill set and vast knowledge base. Boasting an impressive 14 years in the industry, he possesses an understanding of everything from equipment maintenance to intricate repairs. This invaluable expertise enables him to swiftly troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site, ensuring that events proceed with seamless precision. Outside of work, Dan's passion extends to his personal pursuits, you can often find him engrossed in his garage, fine-tuning his car and restoring tools.

Daniel brings a wide-ranging skill set, encompassing multiple departments within SLX. Presently, he dedicates his expertise to the maintenance and development of our internal business systems, ensuring their seamless operation. Daniel actively undertakes diverse projects aimed at optimising warehouse workflows, spearheading initiatives that elevate efficiency and productivity. Not limited to these responsibilities alone, he conducts quality inspections and readily assists anyone in need with their technical concerns. Daniel's multifaceted abilities make him an indispensable team member, consistently contributing to the smooth functioning of our operations and ensuring that technical challenges are swiftly resolved.  

Jordan plays a pivotal role as a Warehouse and Live Events Technician, responsible for organising and preparing equipment for venues and events across the UK. With a keen eye for detail, Jordan excels in the lighting department, identifying and resolving issues. Jordan's Electronic Music Degree and Music Technology Diploma, provides him with a wealth of extensive knowledge and experience in live music production and sound engineering. Beyond his technical expertise, Jordan is a talented house and electronic music producer, regularly performing at nightclubs and offering mixing and mastering services for independent bands. Jordan's diverse skill set makes them an invaluable asset, ensuring exceptional event experiences and outstanding production.

Joe brings youthful energy to the SLX team racing around the warehouse testing cables, logging and managing stock as well as examining our extensive inventory to ensure it is always client ready. Joe has achieved a degree in Electronic Music Production giving him the skills, qualities and building blocks to be an efficient Warehouse Technician. In his spare time, you will find Joe exploring Bristol, enjoying its finest food and shopping.
